Room Painting

Keddi has always loved pink and as we chose accessories for the big girls room, I decided the little girls would get the big girls current bedding. Even Shinara has expressed a liking for pink recently. That is until we painted the entire room pink. Now she is very discontent about having a pink room! And it's a lot of pink to be sure! I am not a fan of pink but we went through a lot of shades and found one that both Joel and I like. Now Shar wants some yellow. We will see what I can do about adding splashes of yellow.

As you can see, we first tried purple and orange for the big girls walls. But we felt that the orange was just a bit too overpowering especially since the purple would be rather bold as well. The girls agree on this brown. There will be a purple accent wall and purple and orange accessories all over the room.

I'll post more pictures when we complete the painting and again when we put the rooms back together.

Mardi's 13th birthday party

Mardi wanted a pool party this year. We don't know anyone with an indoor, heated pool so she waited to have the party. The Hills let us use their pool and yard once again and the kids had a great time.
She handed out message in a bottle invitations. We made totem pole "cakes" and I got this banner to take their pictures in.
The kids spent most of their time in the pool. They dove off the diving board, had chicken fights, sat in the hot tub and talked and played Marco-Polo.

We ordered pizza for them and had marshmallows for them to roast in a fire pit. Unfortunately, even after dark it was too warm for the chocolate I'd brought for them to make s'mores with. We dealt with it.

Most of her guests were her friends at church. Many of them go to her school as well. But she had also invited a handful of friends she knew only through school. The group did a great job including everyone and they all got along great. A good group of teenage kids. I am so grateful.

Memorial Day at Wilson's

I took pictures of the girls playing in the pool last time we were at Wilson's. This time the big girls spent a lot more time in the pool

but they also found a way to sun in it. After a while, Joel and Justin noticed and they decided to squirt the girls.

Mardi rushed the gate to get Joel to stop.

We had a great day and I enjoyed the pool as well. Our heat has set in now and I am looking forward to when the little girls are out of school too so that we can pack up and spend whole days at Wilson's.

Keddi's 9th Birthday

What's a family party without Wilsons? I forgot to post these pictures from Keddi's celebration of her 9th birthday. Braeden had flag football game finals the week of Keddi's birthday and they ended up playing the night of her birthday so she wanted to put off cake, ice cream and presents until they could come. They were able to come the night after her birthday.

8th Grade Awards Ceremony

Tersa received the Silver Presidential award this year for having a 3.5 grade point average for each of her three years in Jr. High. We were quite proud of the accomplishment as she often struggles with math. Her other classes have always been the advanced classes and she manages A's in those. After the ceremony we took her to dinner. She chose to go to Ka, our favorite sushi place! Good job Tersa!
