80's day

Shinara is the one who insisted on dressing up for 80's day today. We did our best with the clothes they had, but when it came to hair, I could do better. Problem is, Shinara found the hair do embarrassing and was quite put out that I insisted on having a picture of it.

They were running late for school since they didn't inform us about this until they got up this morning, so Keddi didn't end up putting on the long socks over her jeans and tennis shoes on. That was the part she thought would be embarrassing and she got away with not doing it!

Ragball

Every spring our Stake invites primary age kids to come out for "Ragball". I took Keddi for the first time last year and she really took a liking to it! So during the last year she has acquired her own bat, ball and glove (all pink) and has had Joel take her to the park for many of their dates so that she can practice. And when she went this year, she was batting really well.
She practices catching too, but throws from adults are more predictable than throws from kids. Anyway, she likes the sport. Next year I think I will take Shinara too if she wants to. It is for 8 and up but they let younger children bat if they want to and Shinara will just be a few months shy of 8 at the time.

Keddi is 9

Just over nine years ago I found out we were having another little girl and I had to do my first internet research to find a name. Keddi Jane is one of a kind and adds so much to the dynamics of our home. But she impacts others too. I don't come across teachers, friends or parents of friends who don't say how sweet, helpful, smart and good she is. We sure love her!

Shinara's 1st Field Day

Field Day has gone down hill a bit at the girls school. By the time Keddi got to kindergarten, they didn't even bother for that age group. For 1st-5th grades, the P.E. teachers coordinate it so this was Shinara's first year. Unfortunately for the kids, our cooler weather caused the teachers to eliminate any water activities. Keddi was very put out and said it wasn't much of a field day at all!

Styrofoam Karate

O.k., so Joel put together a piece of furniture from Office Max a few weeks ago and it was packed up real tight with all kinds of styrofoam pieces. Joel saved them until after the girls got home and he and the little girls had a karate activity. You'd have thought it was the most fun they'd EVER had.

You should have seen this kid. She was so proud of herself as she demolished each of her pieces. Especially when they doubled up!

Is she such a girl or what? (Two handed for styrofoam. ) :)

Styled haircuts

This is what the girls hair looks like when we blow dry it with a round brush. Too cute. And it's funny because Keddi LOVES the volume. I think she's an 80's girl at heart!
